Personality/History: Born in New York, Ada was much beloved by her family and lived the ideal New York life. This was a nice part of town. Even though her parents did not have a house and rented an apartment, it was a very expensive apartment. Her father was a systems administrator and her mother was a RN at the hospital where Ada was born. Between the two, they were easily able to afford the comfortable living they were accustomed to and shower their daughter with affection. There was never a time that she had to go without. Even when there were times that she wished she had more time with her parents with their demanding jobs, Ada had a happy childhood. But, like all children, Ada soon grew into a beautiful young woman. She had not put much thought into what she wanted to do with her life after school, but it was soon to change in a surprising way. She was the victim of a viscous attack. Central Park was not as safe as she thought and was attacked by a dog.
Ada honestly thought that she was going to die. She was in and out of consciousness. However, during those brief moments, she remembered a handsome blonde male with blue eyes finding her and talking to her after calling for help. There were even more brief moments during the ambulance ride. Next she was waking up in a hospital bed and the blonde male that she had caught glimpses of was there with her parents. Her parents left for food after a monsoon of tears, hugs and kisses, leaving her with the blonde man that had saved her life. He said that his name was Jayce Landon.
Almost a month later, Ada was released from the hospital and, after a week or two of rest, met Jayce for coffee. She shared with him all the strange things that had been happening to her since the attack. That was when Jayce told her that what had attacked her in Central Park had not been a dog. It had been a hyena. Not just any hyena, but a werehyena that, come next full moon, she would be one too.
Ada reacted to the news like it was the end of her life and, being a werehyena himself, Jayce decides to take her to meet the Manhattan Cackle. Even though she was nervous and afraid, she was introduced to Priscilla Abatescianni, the Oba of the Manhattan Cackle. Priscilla was a stern but gentle leader. As Oba, Priscilla ruled the Manhattan Cackle as a matriarchal mother would her family and, though Ada felt like her world was falling apart, she found comfort in the maternal nature of the Oba. She was accepted into the Manhattan Cackle, as surprisingly large Cackle, and experienced unconditional support from others that had lived through the transition. They were with her on the night of her first full moon. Central Park was their hunting grounds, but it was only ever on small prey.
Her first full moon was painful, horrifying and humbling, but it was still a beautiful experience. It was the first time that she had ever felt truly free. Except for the pain and even though she was not fully aware of everything she did as a hyena, Ada felt a kind of peace when she woke up that morning. It was better than coffee. As soon as she accepted her new role in life, Priscilla revealed that the werehyena that had attacked her was named Waldhar Faust and he was a rebellious male that had gone rogue. They had found him. Ada was there for his trial that night and to watch him be killed for it.
Ada was slightly mortified by the trial and execution, but understood that Priscilla had no tolerance for those who intentionally attacked humans. Life went on. She found some semblance of normality in her life and started working at one of the many bars that the Manhattan Cackle owned, called the Cackling Coachman. It was during that time that she got her first tattoo and, surprisingly, she loved it.
While things were calm and easier, she started thinking about her future. Ada was so nspired by her tattoo friends and the alternative punk lifestyle that she decided that alternative modeling was something that she wanted to do. But that meant traveling. So she reached out to her Oba and asked for help prepare her for those times she might be without her Cackle. Priscilla was happy to help her.
Training started immediately and Priscilla warned that it would not be easy. It would be hard. Painful. Most females that she took to train as she had been trained would give up trying in less than a year. This warning did not deter Ada. She was passionate about becoming an alternative model and if she was going to be successful, she had to travel on her own. Unquestionable control was necessary. Priscilla pushed her hard and did not hold back, causing Ada to forcefully shift more than a handful of times. She wanted to give up. She wanted to take the easy way out. But she would pick herself up and did everything that her Oba instructed her to do. When given the responsibility of looking out for and helping the newer members of the Cackle. she discovered she had no desire to ever become an alpha. It was too much work. Becoming an alpha was hard enough without being the actual leader.
Ada was able to breathe a sigh of relief on the eve of her twenty-eighth birthday when she reached alpha status and was finally able to sign a four year contract with an alternative modeling agency called Bad Candy. As anticipated, she traveled from the United States and procured hundreds of modeling gigs throughout Europe. Hundreds of fans later, Ada Lovelace was soon a popular model.
Toward the end of her travels, modeling took her to the Victoria Falls in South Africa and it was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. It took her breath away. By this time, she had traveled all of Europe and nothing compared to the natural beauty of this place. Ada wrote about it to her parents, who could not be more proud of her, and to her Oba. Priscilla was just as proud as her parents. While there, she met with a native tribe that was made up entirely of werehyenas and had no fear of being known for what they were. They were respected for being more connected to the animals of the land.
This Cackle was led by Zuri, a fierce Oba who was said to be a warrior, and at her side was her husband, Babatunde, also a warrior and a respected male among their members. Ada sat with them from the time that the sun was setting on Victoria Falls and into the night, learning everything she could about how their Cackle even included natural hyenas. It did not make much sense to her, but they told her of an ability they had that allowed them to call the natural hyenas to them, making their Cackle the biggest in Africa. It was impressive. Later on, Ada was invited to hunt with them on the coming full moon as their honored guest and she was more than honored to accept this rare offer.
It was her experience in Africa with Zuri and Babatunde that she really started to think about the lycanthropes back in America. Something had to be done. Someone had to stand up and say enough was enough. So, once back in New York and in spite of Priscilla's heartfelt warning not to do so, Ada came out publicly that she was a lycanthrope during a live interview. She lost friends, family, and Bad Candy dropped her modeling contract. It also made her the target of many lycanthrope hate groups. But it also gained her the support, admiration and respect of lycanthrope groups throughout the US. That was when she met Ezhil Gadhavi, a wereleopard who headed the Furry Coalition in New York.
Ezhil tells her that the Furry Coalition helps to unite groups and offers help to any lycanthrope that needs their help, even housing some that are in real trouble. They also work to bring awareness to the people of the country about the horrific treatment that lycanthropes are subjected to simply for being what they were. Afterwards, he asked Ada if she would like to be one of the faces of the group. Even though she knew it could be dangerous, she did what she thought was right and agreed. That was when she met with Catherine Day, the best and most successful civil rights attorneys in all of New York. It was decided that Ada would sue her old modeling agency, Bad Candy, for discrimination.
This would prove to be a daunting task. After many, many harsh words, both in the court and in the media, Ada thought she would lose the case. But that was when she started getting the support of certain civil rights groups, those that had no ties to the Furry Coalition, who also felt that it was time to make a change. After several years, the court ruled in her favor and she won against Bad Candy.
Of course, this outcome causes a lot of contreversy. It was the first necessary and important step toward real change in the state of New York, but that was only one state. That did not mean change for the entire nation. Ada hoped that she would be able to inspire others to stand for their rights as sentient beings. If the vampires could have right, why not lycanthropes? Later on, she met with Ezhil again and he told her all the things that was happening in Boston, Massachusetts. He believed that she could help. There was no Furry Coalition there that he knew of, but maybe her presence there would inspire the lycanthropes of Boston to start one. Ada agreed that it was a good idea. So, after saying goodbye to the Manhattan Cackle and her parents, she moved to Boston to start the process of settling in. She plans to open up her own modeling agency, Wicked Talent, before anything else.

[witch]Character Context:[/witch] Ada is a determined hyena with a goal. Lycanthrope rights are important to her and she has publicly revealed what she is. That may make her a target for hate groups, but she is not stupid. Ada usually has a hired bodyguard or two watching her back. Though she hopes that a Furry Coalition will form in Boston, that is not her purpose and hopes that her presence in the city will inspire others within the community to take a stand, possibly even form their own Furry Coalition.
